Ayesha Takia comes from a diverse cultural background. Her father is a Gujarati and her mother is half British and half Maharashtrian. She has been a model since four years of age and she did her first commercial for 'Complan'. She came into the limelight after her appearance in the video 'Shake it Daddy'. Ayesha signed her first Hindi film 'Socha na Tha' opposite Abhay Deol. This was followed by 'Taarzan: The Wonder Car', which incidentally became her debut as the release of 'Socha Na Tha got delayed. The film won her the 'Filmfare Best Debut Award' and 'IIFA Debut Award' in 2004. She has appeared in a number of mainstream Bollywood films like 'Dil Maange More', 'Shaadi No 1' & 'Salaam-E-Ishq'. Her performances in 'Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota' & 'Dor' has won her lot of critical acclaim. And if her past performances are any indication she has a very promising career ahead of her in the Hindi film industry.
