Supriya Pathak is an Indian actress known for her serious roles in art films in films such as Bazaar and Kalyug, both of which won her the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Supriya began her acting career in cinema with Kalyug in 1981 and went on to star in several critically acclaimed films such as Vijeta, Bazaar, Masoom, Mirch Masala. She also starred in a french film “The Bengali Night” alongside Hugh Grant in the 1980s. 1990s saw her appear on the small screen in several television serials and she returned to Bollywood after a 11 year hiatus in 2005 starring alongside Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan in Sarkar. She is now popular as a comedienne ‘Hansa’ in a popular Indian sitcom Khichdi.
