Aamir Khan plays an investigation officer, Inspector Shekhawat who receives a phone call early in the morning informing him about death and an accident and everything starts to unfold from there. The case turns into a life altering chase for Inspector Shekhawat when he is forced to reel under the repercussions of a broken married life with wife Roshni played by Rani Mukherji and come face to face with his suppressed grief. Being on his investigative quest and fighting it out with personal struggle, Inspector Shekhawat meets a sex worker Rosie played by Kareena Kapoor who further adds shades of mystery to the puzzle. What looks like a simple car accident investigation turns into a haunting mystery as further investigations show many anomalies were stringed to the death of the victim.

Description Sriram Venkat is a shallow guy who doesn't value relationships, family, friends, life or the country. This makes him the clear 'black' sheep of the family. He finds himself in a situation in which he narrates the story of his ex-girlfriend Dia Sharma, a social activist who wanted to change the world. A relationship that started out great but eventually veered into complex territories resulting in a clash of ideologies, which drove them apart.
However, Sriram realizes he is not over Dia and follows her to an obscure village in Gujarat called Jhumli. As Dia sees him she refuses to return with him, especially since the villagers needed her. Sriram realizes the only way he can get back is to help the village with their continuing problem.
Will Sriram be able to win back his love? This is the story of a boy and his struggle to cross a bridge, a bridge that love and gap between two people.
