Description
Rama's exploits as he wins the Swayamwara, a competition to select a groom for princess Sita. On his return to the capital Ayodhya where he is to be crowned king, a conspiracy takes place and he is sent in to an exile for 14 years. He is accompanied by his erstwhile wife Sita and his brother Laxman. In the jungles of Chitrakoot where they reside, Rama spurns the proposal of princess Surpanakha who is the sister of Ravan, the demon kind of Rakshasas. Ravan vows to avenge the insult faced by his sister and abducts Sita to Lanka while Rama and Laxman look for an illusion of a golden deer created by Ravan. The search for Sita takes Rama and Laxman to Kishkinda where they form an army of rebel monkeys to fight against Ravan. The movie culminates with the epic battle of Lanka, where good prevails over evil and a victorious Rama returns to Ayodhya with Sita and Laxman.
