Moushmi Chatterjee is one of the most beautiful Indian actresses of the 1970s and 1980s era. She is one of the few actresses to have joined the film industry after marriage. Moushmi debuted in the Indian cinema with a Bengali film titled Balika Badhu in the year 1967 which was followed by Parineeta in the year 1969. She established herself as an actress in Hindi films through her very first film Anuraag, where she portrayed a blind girl. Her role was much praised and she was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actress award for the same. During the 1970s and 1980s, Moushmi shared the screen with some of the biggest stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Jeetendra. Some of her very successful films during the seventies were Roti Kapda aur Makaan, Swarg Narak and Manzil. During the 1980s, Moushmi appeared in several films playing intense character roles. Daughter-in-law of the famous singer Hemant Kumar, Moushmi is blessed with two daughters Payal and Megha.
