Description Maharathi is based on Paresh Rawal's famous Gujarati play of the same name. The movie revolves around Adenwalla (Naseeruddin Shah), a one time famous film maker who takes to drinking heavily because of his recent failures. His wife, Mallika (Neha Dhupia) plots to prove his suicide as murder in order to get an insurance policy worth Rs. 24 crores. What follows is a drama full of twists and turns, involving different characters. Maharathi stages some brilliant performances by talented actors such as Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani and Om Puri who keep the audience guessing and glued to their seats.
